The community is active. The tool is impressive. And if your team has a developer — or you're comfortable getting technical — the ceiling is genuinely high.

The catch is that it's not built for non-technical users. The interface is less polished. Self-hosting requires setup and maintenance. And "almost unlimited power" means very little if nobody on your team can actually unlock it.

This is the classic trap: picking the most powerful tool because it looks best on a comparison chart, then barely using 10% of what it can do. Deep expertise in one tool is worth more than shallow awareness of twenty. n8n rewards the people who go all in on it — and punishes everyone else with complexity they didn't need.
